Why doesn't the piece I ordered look exactly like the photo on your site?

How do I care for the artwork I purchased from you?

Is it alright to put pewter in a dishwasher?

Where do you make your work?

Q: Why doesn't the piece I ordered look exactly like the photo on your site?
A: Since all of my work is handmade one piece at a time (hand fabricated, not cast), I can fabricate a similar piece but not necessarily an identical one...it will be very close!

Q: How do I care for the artwork I purchased from you?
A: Silver: Most of my silver items are finished to a "Sunshine Cloth" finish. You can order a Sunshine Cloth from the online catalog.

When using the Sunshine Cloth, first make sure your piece is clean (free of grease and dirt). Clean your piece first with dishwashing liquid and warm water. For removing dirt in hard to reach places, an old tooth brush works well. Failing to first clean your piece prior to buffing with the Sunshine Cloth will shorten the life of your Sunshine Cloth and may rub abrasive particles into the piece, thus scratching it. The Sunshine Cloth must not be washed. Use it until it no longer polishes and then discard it. Washing it will not restore it's usefulness but will ruin it should you wash it while it still works.

On very stubborn tarnishing, lightly breathe on the piece to produce a slight fog, then quickly polish with the Sunshine Cloth before the fog evaporates.

Pewter: Unlike my silver work, my pewter pieces will usually have a "brushed" or "slightly textured" finish. For these pieces use mild dishwashing soap with warm water on a terry cloth wash cloth and dry with a terry cloth towel. For highly polished pewter pieces, clean and polish as described under "Silver."

Copper: Many of my pieces, both pewter and silver, have copper accents. These can be cleaned as detailed above while cleaning the base piece. (See Silver or Pewter, depending on the base metal used on the piece.) You may want to use a Sunshine Cloth to lightly buff the copper accents on a pewter piece.
